Underfloor Heating

Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating uses pipes embedded under the floor which then transfer heat into the room, this provides enough warmth to heat a building all year round. The heat provided by underfloor heating is considered more comfortable because it is radiant heat, leaving rooms with a higher radiant temperature with even heat distribution throughout the room.

Underfloor heating is a more efficient use of fuel as it operates at a lower temperature. It also makes better use of space, with no need for radiators.

Underfloor heating is ideal for new builds or complete renovation projects, Solar Renewable can advise and install underfloor heating for your project.

How does it work

An underfloor heating system is made up of 3 parts:

  1. The Emitter

This is the part that is laid under the floor and consists of a pipe set laid within the flooring.

  1. The Manifold

The manifold distributes water from the heating system into the underfloor heating.

  1. The Controls

Underfloor heating controls ensure that the temperature in each room remains comfortable and that the heating is only on when required.

  1. The Heat Source

This supplies the warm water needed to heat the underfloor heating. The heat source could be a boiler or renewable energy alternative.
